Begun in the 1980's with just one author and just one editor, Authors & Editors had as its original goal service to commercial publishers of materials in English as a Second Language. We provided expertise, experience, and creativity in materials and methods--offering what was likely to work best for educational booksellers and their potential customers. In the present millennium Authors & Editors still has just one author and just one editor. it also has just one production designer, one marketing organizer, and a one-person order department. Obviously, one person fulfills far more than one function. To keep up with the goals of the times, the purpose of our two-person family business is to help language and content instructors and learners of basic English , English as a Second Language, reading, speech , and related skills who want effective, efficient materials and ideas that go beyond the ordinary. some of our newer products are content-based--directed at native-speakers that learn best through adapted language and balanced, complete organization of subject matter. More advanced non-natives will profit from them too. Though generally not intended for rank beginners, the described materials will motivate both instructors and students to strive for excellence.
